Recently, Camp Boggy Creek partnered with V For Victory, an amazing non-profit in Jacksonville that provides services and support to Cancer warriors and their families. We invited 19 families to travel to Camp for a weekend respite of fun and joy. Families played, bonded, made new friends, and met new people going through the same thing that they are. It was a truly amazing and powerful weekend that caught the attention of First Coast News in Jacksonville. #campboggycreek #medicalcamp #cancerwarriors

When people are coming into work with pre-existing Adverse Childhood Experiences overlaid with the stress, trauma, and fears we've all been immersed in for the past four years, business leaders need to adjust our policies and practices to give people the space they need to de-stress, heal, and thrive. One simple policy change we're making at Camp Boggy Creek is the addition of paid holidays. We added days in March and April this year to create daylight in what is traditionally a long Spring stretch. In 2025 we'll add two additional paid holidays to make sure every month of the year has a long weekend for team members to look forward to. Especially in an organization like ours, which can generate a lot of vicarious trauma, it's not enough to be trauma-informed.
