It's wonderful to take a quick weekend getaway. It's priceless to find a magnificent resort like The Shores.
I've been a visitor to the Daytona Beach area for many years, having lived just 90 miles south growing up. I've seen many hotels come and go. Some of those remaining really look their age.
Traveling with my Favorite Fab One, as soon as The Shores came into view, we knew we were in for a treat. And throughout our entire stay, they DID NOT disappoint. I truly do wish I could give them more stars.
The overall impression that defines this property is Attention to Details. There were no hidden flaws, no dust swept under the rug, as it were.
The level of details and the care and execution are superb. Kudos to those responsible for this gem!
I must mention our check-in experience was absolutely incredible, under the guidance of Robyn. She went WAY above and BEYOND to start our visit off on the right foot. First impressions make such a huge difference, and Robyn actually made us feel thrilled to be here. Seriously.
I'll also mention the Valet, Octavio. Usually they are the unsung heroes, rarely mentioned. Octavio wasn't just parking cars. No. He was a caretaker, ensuring our visit was flawless the moment our feet touched down. I took some extra time to talk with him, which I love doing. You learn so much about those around you, and I feel it helps both parties walk away with a good feeling.
Back to that mantra, Attention to Details. We felt very comfortable with the level of informative communication via texts provided to us by this property. Every possible question answered or a source for answers was given. We were blown away to see we even had the option to use our cell phones as a room key to access our room! We did not take advantage of that service, but we are anxious to try it out, our next visit.
Amenities are top notch. Our room was huge with a great view. The beds were SOOOO comfy. We got a kick out of getting a couple of free drink certificates at the bar, AND a voucher for the goodies to make S'mores after sunset at the firepit outside.
Oh! Add in a SpaceX rocket launch while we were burning those marshmallows! Very appropriate, another reach for the stars. Yeah!
I guess I'll end this with a little quip.
Surf, S'mores, rockets and more. All-inclusive at The Shores.Helpful 3Thanks 2Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jeannine M.Las Vegas, NV03Apr 26, 2024
this hotel is BEYOND Amazing!!!!
the staff is SO friendly!! Rooms are beautiful!!
my husband and I were in Florida for business and after a beautiful stay in Orlando we were sent to the Hilton garden inn at Daytona beach which was the most disgusting hotel we have ever been in!!! we called the Shores at the last minute looking for a hotel. Dianna at the front desk was so kind, found us an oceanview room with a balcony, provided complimentary champagne at check in and was kind beyond belief!!! I would stay here again a recommend this hotel to everyone!! Beach views were beautiful, bar was elegant with live jazz music, food at Azure was amazing!!! cannot say enough good things about this hotelHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 17, 2023
Wonderful getaway. The rooms were fresh and clean. Staff was extremely helpful. The beach views are superb.
Our breakfast was served on the patio by the pool. It was cooked perfectly--hot scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, perfect southern grits (not cheese) but you must ask for them. They aren't listed on the menu.
Even in a warm morning a nice breeze made outdoor dining comfortable.
We received a complimentary cocktail when we arrived and a s'mores kit to use at their beachfront gas fire pits.
It is a favorite place for us to relax and rest.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 11, 2023
Beautiful hotel on an even more beautiful beach. Excellent conference rooms, especially those on the top floor with a view of the beach. Stunning pool area that sits directly on the beach. Free s'mores kit to use in the fire pits that are poolside. Pretty nice touch.
They only lost a star because the rooms themselves, while clean, are almost due for renovation, but still have a luxury feel. My room overlooked the parking lot and the roof of the entrance valet area. Undoubtedly, the rooms on the other side of the hotel had a stunning view, which you can see in the pictures from the pool area.
I highly recommend staying here if you will be visiting Daytona. I also recommend if you are an organization planning a small conference in a nice locale in Florida. It is a few miles south of the bandstand, but that was ok for me as I had my car and enjoyed the proximity if I wanted that scene and quiet if I didn't.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Melina B.Deltona, FL021Mar 16, 2024
This is your expensive coastal view room. Mostly walls and air conditioners. Will not give a discount or move rooms. Stayed here before, but very disappointed in the high price of this room for this ugly view. Will NOT stay here again. If you decide to stay, be aware of how they label rooms - sunset view means you are looking at the road with the river in the distance where the sun sets. Coastal view means looking at the a/c with the beach in the distance.

The location is beautiful, with access to the beach! I stayed here from Tuesday to Friday for the Judicial Conference. Upon checking in, the lady in front was not welcoming at all. I wish she would've mentioned that there was a $100 fee per night for incidental ( wish I think it's a lot).
You are given 2 Complimentary drinks and a s'more kit. There is also a complimentary yoga session at 9:00 am every day.
The room itself was spacious but nothing spectacular. The bed and pillows were horrible, so uncomfortable. I didn't sleep well my entire time there, from how uncomfortable the bed was and how hot it was in room. The ac wasn't working correctly. I called several times during my stay and noone came to fix the issue in room 633.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - jared d.Daytona Beach Shores, FL01Feb 15, 2024
BE ADVISED IF YOU DONT BOOK DIRECTLY THEY WONT HONOR THE STAY THREE AND PARK FREE
Was going to give a 5 star review but upon checkout the hidden fees appear and that's where things went down hill. Christian who checked me in was very helpful and so was most of the staff during my stay. The glass of champagne and voucher for a smores making kit were very nice and appreciated. The room was nice . I had a single bed with balcony on the corner so a partial ocean view but facing A1A which is fine with me. The room was clean and bed was comfortable ( as were the sheets clean and comfy ). There is a pool and hot tub that close at dusk and they offer yoga classes. Azure restaurant was decent food . I had the Waffle Wednesday special which was filling. Overall nice stay.
Once I checked out however I was expecting to be charged for my resort fees of $28 plus tax. I am fine with that . What I was NOT expecting was the $25 "Stay three and park free "charge since I stayed 3 nights. I discussed this with Robyn upon checkout and she would not honor the it because it was booked through Expedia. So I got zapped with about $81 in extra charges. That was going to be a nice dinner out for two but unfortunately we can't now.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 1, 2022
Well... At least it has a phenomenal view.
The Shores has a great view of the ocean and when you open your drapes it feels like you are right on the beach. But everything else in the hotel past the main lobby and bar is extremely dated and is in desperate need of fixing or a refresh.
When you first arrive, you can choose daily valet parking or self-parking. The self-parking lot is across the street but is connected by a convenient elevated walkway that takes you right to the lobby. Check-in was easy.
I got a two queen room. First off, I noticed the room is huge. There is a ton of empty floor space between the bed and the TV/dresser cabinet. The provide two complimentary bottles of water. There is an empty fridge which you can fill with whatever you like. It is not pre-loaded with sensored soda cans.
The bathroom is... Interesting. The sink is a mini sink and the sink handles and faucet are sideways. Yes, they were turned on the right side, the faucet is not front and middle. It is a weird and uncomfortably cramped set up. The bathroom provided one small bar of soap. Hmmm... I had to call hospitality for that because I wanted one for the shower too. Why so stingy? It took more than an hour for them to deliver the soap in the evening. I stopped waiting and just left the room to go meet my group.
The bathroom's golden floor looked nice until I noticed some of the floor "tiles" were peeling. There was a glossy layer coming off of them. There was some leftover hair in the middle of the shower drain. The closet to hang clothes is in the bathroom and it's a half closet, where if you hang a shirt or dress, it's going to touch the floor and get wrinkled. There's a full size closet and you put the hanging area on the floor vs. the top half of the closet. Makes no sense. The baggage rack was rusty. The vintage lamp by my bed still had a plastic sales band around the top but the base of the lamp was encrusted with dust and dirt. Did they get these at a garage sale? Or have they just not been cleaned for 20 years? It was gross.
The hotel staff that I talked to were nice, but that can't mask that the property needs an refresh. The toppers were... The ice room on my floor was working the first night, and then the next day the ice room door couldn't open because the door handle wouldn't turn. When we were leaving, all of the main elevators weren't working. I think there are three of them. So everyone in the hotel was directed to use the service elevator when checking out on a Sunday. We were packed like sardines in there.
If you want the hotel for the location or view and it's a reasonable price? Great. If you're expecting anything more than that, well, good luck. At least the air conditioning in the room works.Helpful 15Thanks 0Love this 11Oh no 0 - Izabela B.New York, NY10162109Mar 24, 2023
I had a lovely stay at this resort for a Sunday-Tuesday trip. I spoke with multiple front desk people during my stay and all were extremely positive and helpful. The check-in included 2 free welcome drinks and a ticket for a free s'mores kit at sunset. As per posters in the lobby there was some sort of magic show on Thursday's however we were not there on that day to check it out. The room was on the 10th floor and very spacious and clean.
The complimentary yoga was held upstairs on the day we went due to windy conditions outside however it seems to be held outside during normal weather. Mats and towels were included. The instructor was very friendly and accommodating to my boyfriend who was trying yoga for the first time. It was definitely an amazing addition to the hotel experience. The s'mores were also great as they had multiple campfire sections along with tables containing a flame.
Parking - self park was across the street and valet was a few more dollars. The self park works through an app so it was convenient to adjust times if needed.
The pool area could use a few more beach chairs as it tends to get crowded in the afternoon. A hot tub or heated pool options for a night swim would have been the cherry on top. The tiki bar had great service and I would return here if I'm back in Daytona!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Shantel N.Miami, FL33683Jun 14, 2023
Overpriced, not luxury accommodations, poor management (Kim) response to room issues.
